Ghost of christmas past...

Merry Christmas everyone! (Or happy whatever doesn't offend you...)

I thought it'd be appropriate to post a few pictures from the past. This month I turned 18. I'm an adult! I can drink and smoke and go to bars! Really, I actually haven't done any of that yet... Just doesn't interest me that much, I don't know why.
I feel weird. It's been years since I started my treatment for my depression and it feels like it's been a blink of an eye. Like I've lost years... years that were important and big for everyone else but not me. They just were. And now they're gone. And I have to try and write a new history for myself. I need a future because my past is lost and I'm never ever getting that time back no matter how hard I try. My feelings and days were sucked into a black vaccuum and I never really got to experience them. At least now I feel something. We'll see if that is a bad or a good thing. Sometimes I'm scared and want to go back to the way things used to be.
But there's no turning back now. I have to finish what I've started.

On a happier note I've always loved christmas! I'm a bit weird and I like giving presents more than I like getting them (if only I had money lol)... And I love food so there's another reason :P
But really, christmas doesn't necessarily mean presents or even food, I just love the fact that I get to spend it with people I love and care for. And even though it sounds cheesy, it is really nice.

The tree of life

What I would do to my hair if I had the guts

I've started dreaming about cutting my hair really short and 20's style. And maybe going blonde for a while... My ultimate wish is to dye my hair turqoise but I'm propably never going to do that.
I have to go brunette for like a month because of my Irene Adler cosplay, but that's about as exciting as it's gonna get. But if I did have the courage to do something like that, here are a few pictures of my dream-hair *sigh*.

Back to school!

So this year I'm pretty short on cash so I decided to save some money and instead of buying a new pencil-case, schoolbag and a calender I made them myself! Well, in the case of the calender I just made new covers for the one I got from school for free, since the original covers were pretty ugly.

So this is the calender. Yay for Batman!

And here is the bag- I bought a plain white one for like 2 euros and then drew the bow with my textile pen.
I think it turned out okay! I'm thinking of making another one as well :)

Makeup trend: blue

Blue is the colour of water, the colour of the sky, the colour of life. And it is also my new favourite colour!
The turqoise shade that I'm currently in awe of is quite comforting and dreamy, yet it has a certain boldness and attitude, at least if paired with an all-black/all-white outfit.
In makeup the word blue brings back memories of being a child or a teenager and just getting into makeup- who could forget those first few times putting on blue eyeshadow (perhaps stolen/borrowed from your mum)
and staring at the horrific sight in the mirror. Well, perhaps it's time to put those times behind us and embrace the colour blue in makeup again! Because if there's one thing that blue can do, it's to attract attention! And if you use it carefully, only as a single splash of colour in otherwise neutral setting, it might just do the trick, while still managing to stay sophisticated.

 

Those of you who might shy away from one of these presented looks (because let's admit it, blue eyebrows or lips might just be too bold to some people, at least on an average day) might want to try purchasing a blue liquid eyeliner, lining the upper lid with a thin blue line and finishing it off with a blue cat-eye and lots of mascara for a more sophisticated look.

Time to introduce two of my new favourite dresses!

Suprisingly these are not from a flea-market like all my clothes usually, but the mint-coloured dress is from H&M and the black dress is from Seppälä (?). I like them because they fit very well, and they're not too short (two of the biggest problems I have with clothes, since I'm very tall). Sometime soon I will make a proper outfit post. Now I'm just lazy and will leave these two pictures here and leave...

Back from the North

I just spent two weeks in the northern part of the country with my family- most of my relatives live there and I got to spend some quality time with them. I love my family and I love spending time with them, but I have to say that during those two weeks I started to really appreciate my home more (especially these three things:
1. My piano!
2.An internet connection
3.No MOSQUITOS!)
In short, I liked my holiday but home is always home :)
I recently got a new iPhone (well, not exactly new, my dad bought a new phone and gave me his old iPhone- even though I insisted that my old phone was working just fine -.-) and I'm starting to think it's ok after the doubts I had at the start of our "relationship"... I still hate phones with touchscreen (How do you WRITE with that thing?!) but having an ok camera and a music making tool with me at all times is proving to be quite convenient. So here are a few pictures I took with my new iPhone.

 

 

 

 

 

Ahh the idyllic nature of Finland, right? And a bit of Sweden too... The last two pictures are of a really cool Swedish veteran car that my godmother almost bought! Luckily she didn't, you'd have to be a mechanic to be able to care for a car that old!
